Tailor Job Responsibilities and Duties
- To make adjustments to men’s and women’s suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers.
- Included, but not limited to:
- Shorten/lengthen sleeves
- Taper sides of garments
- Lower collars
- Take in/out trousers waist
- Take in/out seat and rise on pants
- Shorten/lengthen trousers
- Taper trouser thighs and foot widths
- Ensure proper sizing of clients
- Manages all interactions with professionalism
- Tracks detailed alteration production daily
- Performs alterations on all garments submitted for alteration, presses finished garment, removes threads, and completes for client-ready
- Completes all work promptly to ensure customer delivery date
- Maintains a clean work environment and maintains all required paperwork related to daily assignments
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment
- Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently with a strong organization of time
