Essential Responsibilities are a combination of a machine operator and solderer Loads component reels on to SMT feeders or reel carts from kitsPerforms feeder set-up and parts value verificationLocates stencil and assists in screen printer set-upMay perform basic machine set-up, programming and assist senior Operators with daily department tasksOperates the AOI, Board Loader, Screen Printer/Paste Inspection, Pick and Place, Reflow oven and X-ray machineTears down completed jobs and brings excess material to crib areaMay enter information into databases for stencils and completion of quality data (MES) for statistical process control (SPC), hourly productivity data chartingMay also audit kits, hand load SMT components, and work in other areas when workload is restrictedGeneral cleaning of machines and performs basic preventive maintenance (PM)May perform resistance test using a Multi MeterAccurately cut/trim/form component leads using hand cutters and forming toolsAccess customer prints and work instructions to install components and partsRoute and attach wires to form circuitryInstallation of through-hole and surface mount components (basic hand soldering)Perform visual self-inspection per IPC-610APost-SMT hand insertion and mechanical assembly operationsPerform standard rework operationsFill out and maintain rework recordsMay be required to do 2nd inspection on others workUnderstand and follow requirements including but not limited to ESD, moisture sensitivity, ISO 9001, AS9100 and 13485 compliance, and ITAR complianceAbility to understand meet Quality and KPI objectivesCross train in other manufacturing areas as required Essential Responsibilities Of All Beacon EmbeddedWorks Employees Support, demonstrate and drive our core valuesInteract positively and professionally with all employees and customersMaintain reliable attendancePerform work safely and adhere to all safety requirementsComplete required training as scheduledPerform other duties as assigned Beacon EmbeddedWorks is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer Requirements Required Qualifications 1- 5 years of machine operator or soldering experienceAttain IPC-A-610 certification within 90 days from hireSolderer would be required to attain J-STD-001 CIS certification within 90 days of hireAble to identify and apply very small components in very small spaces without damaging adjacent partsCan self-inspect and evaluate the quality of products before forwarding to the next step in the production processMust be able to read, write and otherwise communicate effectively in EnglishBasic computer proficiency (email, Internet access, Microsoft Word/Excel)Good hand and eye coordinationAble to conduct tests to determine whether equipment, software, or procedures are operating as expectedCan self-inspect and evaluate the quality of products before forwarding to the next step in the production processAble to follow directions and maintain a safe, 5S environmentMust listen effectively, possess a positive attitude, and cooperate well with team membersAble to work in a fast-paced environment; can adapt to quickly changing priorities to ensure superior customer satisfactionExcellent attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work with cross-functional departments to achieve department and company goals Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalentSMT experience Other Considerations The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
