Position Summary
The SMT Operator will set up, operate, and adjust SMT equipment including paste printer, pick and place machine, reflow oven, X-ray machine, AOI inspection machine, and stencil cleaner.
Essential Functions
- Reads and interprets process documentation
- Performs material handling processes and maintains proper inventory control
- Processes jobs by picking and staging kits in accordance with detailed instructions
- Operates SMT machines by prepping multiple machines, setting up support fixtures, entering programs, and quickly and efficiently loading / replenishing feeders with reels of components
- Performs manual component placement as necessary
- Diagnostics improper SMT machine operation and performs minimal programming adjustments
- Performs preventive maintenance on SMT machines
- Repairs or replaces defective parts rejected by AOI or test personnel

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with ESD precautions
- Ability to carry out instruction in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables
- Ability to identify components and electrical component values
- Effective computer skills including but not limited to ERP software
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment
- May be required to sit for extended periods of time
- Noise level is moderate
- The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three years of relevant experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
