Experienced Senior Psychiatric Technician (BERT) - Atrium Health Pineville FT Days
About the role
Serve as the team lead for all BERT activations
Assist in identifying and rounding on high-risk patients
Auditing the patient care environment to ensure compliance with the room safety checklist
Rounding on and auditing compliance with the Blue Star designation for Risk for Harm patients
Mitigating risk of Workplace Violence Events
Shift by shift tracking of Risk for Harm patients, IVC patients and patients requiring an in-person safety observer
Conduct rapid behavioral assessments and lead de-escalation
Collaborate with providers on medication, restraint, and consult decisions
Provide real time support and education for PSA teammates as well as unit teammates to ensure patient and teammate safety
Lead post-event debriefs and complete documentation
Follow up with teammates after Workplace Violence events to provide support and offer resources
Responsibilities

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree or certification from the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians for teammates promoted after 2017 required
- 2 years of experience required
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required
- CPI Certification required within 90 days of hire date
Qualifications
- Works in patient care area, with potentially combative or self-destructive patients
- Work requires walking, standing, lifting, reaching, handling of charts, supplies, equipment, blood, and body fluids
- Demonstrates flexibility in changing workload
Skills
- Observing, reporting, and documenting signs, symptoms or changes in patient behavior
- Interacting with patients therapeutically
- Assisting, initiating, and participating in social and recreational activities, group therapy, patient teaching groups, and other group activities
- Making rounds on assigned patients as ordered
- Making observations in the patient care area
- Participating in unit-based process improvement activities

Pay
$20.80 - $31.20
Schedule
Full time day shift position - three 12 hour shifts per week. Weekend and holiday requirement.
