Experienced Registered Nurse (3+ years)

Position Summary

UBMD Neurology’s Alzheimer Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting. This role assists individuals with neurological and cognitive conditions by delivering hands-on nursing care, coordinating treatment plans, and supporting patients and families through education and clear communication. The RN plays a key role in ensuring efficient clinic operations while promoting high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Triage patient concerns and support follow-up on testing, referrals, and care needs
• Provide patient and family education on treatment plans and neurological conditions
• Support high-risk patients through coordinated care and ongoing communication
• Perform clinical procedures including: IV insertion and removal, venipuncture, monitoring for adverse reactions, medication documentation, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring proper handling
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Aid with patient flow and support efficient outpatient clinic operations
• Monitor medical supplies and ensure emergency equipment is functioning properly

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program
• Current New York State RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience (outpatient experience preferred)
• Strong communication, clinical assessment, and patient support skills
