Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Patient Access Representative for a 3-month contract opportunity in The Woodlands area. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of recent experience in a hospital or clinic setting and will bring strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

Principal Accountabilities

• Patient Scheduling & Registration: Schedule patient appointments and accurately enter patient information into the system.
• Demographic & Financial Data Entry: Collect and document patient demographic, insurance, and financial information with high accuracy.
• Forms & Documentation: Explain required forms clearly and obtain necessary patient or guarantor signatures.
• Insurance & Eligibility Verification: Verify insurance benefits, eligibility, authorizations, and required notifications within established timelines.
• Payment Processing: Post payments in the system and issue receipts as appropriate.
• Account Resolution: Monitor patient accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
• Professional Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, insurance carriers, and internal staff.
• Patient Financial Support: Assist in establishing payment arrangements and screening for eligibility programs as needed.
• Service Excellence: Deliver compassionate, patient-centered service aligned with organizational standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a hospital or clinic setting (patient-facing required)
• Insurance Verification and Referral experience
• Proficient typing and keyboarding skills
• Current TB Skin Test or Chest X-ray (willing to get)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
