Experienced Overnight Emergency and ICU Veterinary Assistant

About the role

The role at TVRH is a comprehensive one, encompassing various medical services including surgery, emergency care, radiology, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, rehabilitation and pain management, and neurology. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled veterinarian to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Treatment and management of surgical cases
• Assessment and treatment of emergency cases
• Performing diagnostic imaging and interpretation of results
• Providing medical care for internal medicine patients
• Managing cases related to cardiology
• Treating oncology patients
• Implementing rehabilitation and pain management protocols
• Assessing neurological conditions

Requirements

• A Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
• Current licensure to practice veterinary medicine in North Carolina
• Experience in one or more of the hospital’s service areas
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Passionate about animal health and welfare
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Effective time management and organizational abilities

Skills

• Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
• Knowledge of anesthesia and perioperative care
• Experience with critical care and intensive monitoring
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
