Motorcycle Technician Compensation and Benefits

Motorcycle Technician Starting Salary: $25-$30 per hour for the first 30 days. Will transition to $25-$30 per flat rate hour, depending on experience.

Tuesday - Saturday schedule.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Industry-leading accrual of 4 hours per pay period, totaling approximately 96 hours in the first year, with increases over time.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Includes medical, dental, vision, Health Savings and Flexible Spending accounts, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and a robust 401(k) plan for retirement planning.
  • Paid Holidays: 5 paid holidays per year to Motorcycle Technicians subject to completion of the introductory period and other eligibility requirements as per company policy.

Motorcycle Technician Responsibilities

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnostics the cause of any malfunction and performs the repair.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.

Motorcycle Technician Qualifications

  • Previous repair experience required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Physical ability to use computer hardware/software.
  • Research skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Maintain clean driving record and be insurable with company insurance.
