About the role
As the Mental Health Director, you will provide clinical and administrative oversight for the Mental Health program and staff within the facility. This includes clinical supervision, program consultation, and ensuring mental health services align with professional standards and patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and supervise clinical services for mental health staff at the institutional level.
- Provide clinical supervision, professional education, and staff development for mental health professionals.
- Perform direct clinical services and oversee training provided by mental health staff to other facility staff.
- Maintain open communication with institutional administrative, security, medical, and support staff; ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement goals and objectives for clinical services; conduct staff meetings and in-service opportunities.
- Provide timely notification of clinical concerns to the Regional Mental Health Director or Corporate Director of Mental Health Services.
Requirements
- Leadership experience and independent licensure.
- Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited college or university.
- Experience in coordinating and administering mental health service delivery systems.
- Significant coursework and professional experience in mental health, including management, supervision, peer review, quality assurance, psychotherapy, diagnosis/treatment of psychological disorders, and psychological evaluation techniques.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice psychology in the state of employment by the appropriate state licensing board.
- Must maintain CPR certification and any other certifications (e.g., First Aid) required by contract.
