Overview

Kimley-Horn's is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the Sacramento, CA office's MEP team!

Responsibilities

  • Support our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team specifically working on Building Systems Engineering and/or Industrial project types.
  • Perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various projects such as load calculations for HVAC, Exhaust, Chilled & Heating Hot Water Systems.
  • Prepare design drawings - floor plans, flow diagrams, details, schedules, etc. and calculations for projects under a Professional Engineer.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in a similar mechanical engineering role with familiarity working on advanced manufacturing facilities, industrial facilities, and mission critical facilities.
  • An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • EIT/EI certification and/or Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain licensure).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients.
  • A positive attitude and an impressive work ethic.
  • A clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines.
  • An attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • A passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals.

Skills

  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and excel.
  • Exposure to Trane Trace or IESVE.
