Responsibilities
- Design critical cast components that matter.
- Support both off-site metallic casting suppliers and an on-site machine shop through effective collaboration and communication.
- Maintain design control while also helping to evaluate nonconformances from manufacturing upsets.
- Apply engineering analysis and sound design principles to improve performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Work closely with external foundry suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional on-site engineering teams to bring designs to life.
- Own design control activities including drawings, specifications, engineering changes, and technical documentation.
- Investigate manufacturing and field issues, identify root causes, and develop robust engineering solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement in both product design and engineering processes.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical leadership on key projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria
- Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment
- Good problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Displays informal leadership characteristics
- Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking
- Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role
Qualifications
- Experience with one or more of the following: Designing metallic cast components (investment castings preferred), Mechanical component design and detailed engineering drawing review, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Working with foundries or casting suppliers, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Product development from concept through production
- Root cause analysis and resolving manufacturing or quality issues

- Total Rewards Package: Salary: $110,000 - $121,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses.
