About the role
Designing vehicle components and assemblies in SolidWorks
Supporting metal fabrication and custom manufacturing projects from concept to prototype
Collaborating with shop technicians to ensure design feasibility and quality outcomes
Creating drawings and documentation that support production and compliance
Solving mechanical challenges and improving the design library
Responsibilities
- Designing vehicle components and assemblies in SolidWorks
- Serving as a bridge between design and manufacturing, supporting metal fabrication and custom manufacturing projects from concept to prototype
- Working closely with shop technicians to ensure designs are feasible and meet quality standards
- Developing detailed drawings and documentation that support production processes and regulatory compliance
- Addressing mechanical challenges and enhancing the design library
Requirements
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Experience in design for manufacturing or metal fabrication
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced shop environment
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and provide creative solutions to the team
Qualifications
- Passionate about mechanical design and eager to work on real-world applications (not just models)
- Available to work on-site in Randolph, NY

- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Experience in design for manufacturing or metal fabrication
