Experienced Machine Operator - Weekend Shift

As a Slitter Operator at Steel Technologies, your primary responsibility is to set up and operate slitting equipment according to customer specifications and work orders. We'll rely on you to perform regular equipment inspections, accurately measure dimensions, align materials, and produce high-quality products that meet production instructions and customer requirements. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will play a key role in ensuring efficient operations and exceptional product quality. How you’ll contribute to our company: Make and inspect arbor and overarm set-ups to ensure compliance with production instructionsReconcile coil identity to production and load coilThread coil through slitter head, cropping non-complying materialThread mults into recoilerMaintain production and quality standards by measuring and verifying before during and after processingCheck and record gauge width, hardness, camber, burr and surface conditionSet gauge monitoring system (if applicable) and ensure gauge calibrationAdjust machine setup to correct defects as needed throughout slitting (if applicable)Communicate non-compliance production to supervisor and/or shift leadBand/secure and identify slit multsComplete production documentationAssist maintenance to troubleshoot malfunctions or complete preventative maintenance as necessaryRemove scrap from machine and empty hopper as neededClean slitter and surrounding area Here’s what we can offer: Medical, Dental, and Vision after 60 days of employmentFree MDLive Telehealth Services through our Medical Plan.
