We are seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this position, you are a vital part of the medical process, working closely with our Board-Certified Dermatologists and technical team to manage complex cases, provide enhanced quality of life via treatments, and bridge communication between the doctor and client. Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellent relations with clients and pets in the waiting area and exam rooms.
- Exceed client expectations of service with compassionate nursing care as the top priority.
- Perform housekeeping and maintenance duties.
- Conduct cursory examinations of animals and recognize potential patient issues.
- Clearly communicate findings to the doctor.
- Maintain accurate record keeping.
- Fill prescriptions and dispense medications as prescribed by the doctor.
- Phlebotomy and IV catheter placement.
- Prepare and restrain animals during procedures.
- Anesthetic induction and monitoring.
- Assist with procedures, including suturing cutaneous and subcutaneous tissues.
- Apply bandages and/or splints and provide wound care.
- Use a stethoscope and otoscope.
- Advise pet owners on proper care.
Requirements
- Previous experience or training/education in a veterinary facility.
- Friendly, outgoing, and "people oriented" with excellent communication skills.
- Capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist duties, including telephone and computer skills.
- Team player willing to learn new techniques, treatments, and accept change.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Dependable attendance.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Willingness to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions.
- Ability to walk, bend, stand, squat, or reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day.
