About the role

Analyze a variety of oil samples, including any combination of forty analytical tests on incoming crude oil samples, samples from various points in the oil process, finished storage samples, and samples from tank trucks being shipped to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate test results to facilitator when test indicates corrective action is necessary.
  • Prioritize oil samples as they arrive in the laboratory.
  • Complete truck paperwork so shipments can depart in a timely manner.
  • Record data in the appropriate written logs for a permanent record and as insurance against lost computer records.
  • Enter test results into an automated Quality Control Database for each sample tested.
  • Perform packaging line quality assurance.
  • Conduct finished product and incoming material testing.
  • Store production retains.
  • Communicate with supervisor/lead person regarding laboratory results.
  • Learn operating procedures for new testing equipment as it is introduced to the lab.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of laboratory processes to contribute insightful methods for streamlining processes.

Schedule

  • Second Shift: 2:00pm - 10:30pm
  • Third Shift: 10:30pm - 6:30am
  • Weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Three years previous laboratory experience preferred
  • Basic data entry skills required

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to walk, sit, and stand

  • Climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods of time
  • Work in confined spaces and at heights

Sensory Requirements

  • Visual, speaking, and touch abilities are essential
  • Must be able to taste and smell oil samples

Mental/Reasoning Requirements

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Pay

$25.00 per hour
