About the Role
Serco has a great opportunity for an Engineering Technician to join a dynamic team at Fort Carson, CO, supporting the US Army on high profile and challenging engineering projects. As part of the Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) contract, you will work closely with the customer and other functional area teams to develop, integrate, and maintain modern and mobile solutions for an integrated Command Post infrastructure, delivering quality systems and supporting documentation.
In This Role, You Will
- Plan and perform routine and non-routine hardware assembly and integration assignments of substantial variety and complexity that are typically part of broader assignments.
- Construct components, subunits, or simple models; adapt standard equipment; troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
- Follow specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
- Conduct tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures, prepare and operate equipment, record data, measure and record problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level, and analyze data and prepare test reports.
- Extract and compile a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., process data, identify errors or inconsistencies, select methods of data presentation.
- Apply methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects, construct experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conduct tests or experiments and redesigns as necessary and record and evaluate data and report findings.
- Review or develop designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data, applying conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists.
- Serve as a prototype systems and network data collector/analyst during the customer's testing and assessments.
Requirements
- 3 years of relevant experience with the integration of Army Tactical C4ISR systems and vehicle platforms.
- An Associate's degree in a specialized professional engineering and/or STEM curriculum (an Associate's Degree in Computer Networking highly preferred).
- A High School Diploma/GED and 2 additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education.
- Ability to develop system-of-systems integration plans to include developing modification designs for new equipment installation.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience with military vehicles.
- Troubleshooting and correcting network errors/faults during design, fabrication, assembly, configuration, and integration phases.
- Experience with C4ISR.
