Experienced Carman

Duties

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on passenger cars and locomotives, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and air brake system issues as they arise.
• Use hand tools and power tools to repair and service various components while maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and repairs performed.

Experience

• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working on passenger rail cars.
• Knowledge of passenger rail car air brake systems and the ability to perform COT&S.
• Experience with passenger rail car electrical systems and HVAC.
• Experience with passenger rail car parts, including but not limited to maintaining or replacing wheels, bearings, trucks, windows, couplers, and related components.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and repair instructions.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Experienced welder with knowledge of MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core, and oxy-acetylene welding on surfaces including steel, cast iron, and stainless steel.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
