About the role
Home Appliance is hiring an Experienced Appliance Repair Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair major household appliances throughout Northeast Ohio. This position is designed for a technician who can independently manage a service route, accurately diagnose appliance problems, complete quality repairs, and deliver an excellent customer experience. You will service a wide variety of kitchen and laundry appliances while having access to manufacturer training, technical resources, company support, and opportunities to advance through multiple technician levels.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage an assigned service route
- Respond to customer requests for appliance service
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic appliance problems
- Repair refrigerators, ranges, ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other major household appliances
- Perform preventive maintenance and warranty service
- Follow manufacturer specifications, technical information, and recommended procedures
- Determine required parts and provide repair estimates according to company processes
- Explain appliance problems and repair recommendations clearly to customers
- Teach customers how to properly operate and care for their appliances
- Verify appliance operation after completing repairs
- Maintain accurate service records, notes, and documentation
- Manage parts and truck-stock inventory
- Keep your company service truck clean, safe, and organized
- Participate in manufacturer, classroom, online, and hands-on training
- Use available technical resources and support systems to resolve difficult service issues
- Help train and develop apprentice technicians when assigned
- Deliver professional, respectful service in customers’ homes
Requirements
- Previous appliance repair experience
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair kitchen and laundry appliances
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals, error codes, and technical information
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and repair procedures
- Ability to use computers, mobile devices, and online technical resources
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills
- Professional and respectful conduct in customers’ homes
- Ability to maintain accurate service and inventory records
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift or move heavy objects
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to qualify as a driver under the company’s vehicle insurance policy
- Willingness to complete the company’s background investigation and drug-screening process
An associate degree, technical-school education, or appliance repair certification is helpful but not required. EPA 608 refrigerant certification is preferred. Candidates who do not already hold the certification may receive company assistance obtaining it during training.

Pay
Expected earnings of $70,000–$100,000. Base pay plus commission. Earnings are influenced by technician level, technical ability, productivity, repair quality, customer service, available work, and overall performance. Individual earnings are not guaranteed and will vary based on experience, performance, available work, hours worked, and other business factors.
