Responsibilities

• Personal Care & Mobility Support
• Gather and prepare bathing supplies
• Absorb and dress from the waist down
• Provide shower assistance each shift
• Observe for safety during slide board transfers and assist as needed
• Absorb and redress after bathing
• Change urine collection bags after showers
• Absorb and change catheter tubing and bags as needed
• Absorb and assist with light laundry
• Prepare meals and snacks
• Chop, dice, and open food packages and containers
• Wash dishes each shift
• Encourage hydration throughout the day
• Absorb and assist with watering outdoor plants
• Take garbage to the road on Tuesday evenings
• Absorb and accompany client on errands when needed

Qualifications

• Experience working with spinal cord injuries preferred
• Experience with quadriplegic clients is a plus
• Comfortable assisting with catheter care and personal care tasks
• Experience with slide board transfers preferred
• Dependable, compassionate, and patient
• Able to encourage independence while providing support when needed
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license required
