Join the Department of Neurology at the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute for a full-time academic practice opportunity in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine rehabilitation. A $25,000 signing bonus is available.

About the role

This position involves inpatient and outpatient practice, teaching fellows, residents, and medical students, and participation in collaborative clinical research. You will join a motivated team of physicians, nurses, and therapists running the largest inpatient spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in Maryland. There is potential to participate in other rehabilitation services such as spasticity management, prosthetics, and inpatient rehabilitation consultation. The position reports directly to Dr. Peter Gorman, Chief, Division of Rehabilitation Medicine.

Pay

The salary range reflects base pay based on faculty rank and years in rank. Actual compensation may vary depending on geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training, and other factors.

  • Associate Professor: $234,546 to $321,940
  • Assistant Professor: $218,861 to $280,000

Requirements

  • Completion of a residency in PM&R or Neurology
  • Board eligible or certified in PM&R or Neurology
  • Added certification in spinal cord injury medicine (required)
  • Eligibility for academic appointment at the assistant or associate professor level at the University of Maryland School of Medicine

Qualifications

  • Clinical research experience (desirable but not required)
