Experience Framing Carpenter

About the Role

Edge Construction, a family-owned construction company in the Greater Madison Area, is seeking experienced framing carpenters to join our team. We specialize in framing a variety of residential homes, from standard new builds to large custom projects. We value carpenters who can read plans, adapt to unique designs, and take pride in their craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Frame and wrap new residential homes from foundation to roof.
• Read blueprints and lay out walls, floors, decks, and roof framing.
• Set rafters/trusses, install sheathing, house wrap, windows, and exterior doors.
• Work on diverse home designs and occasional remodeling projects.
• Ensure work is square, level, plumb, and built to plan.
• Work safely and collaboratively with the crew to keep projects on track.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in ground-up residential framing and rough carpentry.
• Ability to read blueprints and complete framing tasks independently.
• Solid knowledge of framing tools, materials, and construction methods.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round and performing physical labor.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, lead the team, and grow with the company.

Pay

$26–$32+ per hour, based on skills and experience. Additional earning potential for lead and foreman positions.

Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM | Friday, 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
