About the role
Richardson Electronics, Ltd. is a leading global manufacturer of engineered solutions, power grid and microwave tubes, and related consumables; power conversion and RF and microwave components including green energy solutions; high-value replacement parts, tubes, and service training for diagnostic imaging equipment; and customized display solutions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain open purchase orders and supplier commitments to support daily production requirements.
- Expedite critical material shortages to minimize production downtime.
- Cook up with Production Planners to prioritize components supporting changing manufacturing schedules.
- Communicate supplier delays and recovery plans to Buyers, Planning, Production, and Management.
- Monitor shortage reports and work with suppliers to improve delivery performance.
- Aid Receiving and Buyers in resolving shipment discrepancies impacting production.
- Maintain frequent communication with suppliers regarding shipment status, lead time changes, and delivery commitments.
- Update purchase orders with current supplier promise dates and accurate delivery information.
- Maintain supplier contact information and communication records within company systems.
- Aid Buyers by gathering supplier information needed to resolve delivery or technical issues.
- Participate in production meetings as required to communicate material status.
- Recommend process improvements that improve supplier responsiveness and inventory availability.
- Support departmental metrics for supplier on-time delivery and expedite response.
- Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing supplier follow-up activities while escalating issues requiring Buyer involvement.
- Develop a working knowledge of assigned product families and manufacturing processes to support production requirements.
- Schedule inventory to ensure components are on hand for LFM production.
Qualifications
- Two years of experience in manufacturing, purchasing, planning, production control, inventory management, or supply chain.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple urgent requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay
$22-24 per hour plus incentive.
