Primary Job Functions

  • Act as a liaison between various departments and company suppliers, directing shipments to the correct location and arranging for timed deliveries.
  • Oversee and facilitate the smooth flow of work and materials within or among departments according to production or shipping schedules.
  • Expedite assigned purchase orders to ensure all requirements specified in the purchase order are accomplished.
  • Afford assistance to Accounts Payable in resolving invoice issues with suppliers.
  • Manage returns to suppliers due to quality issues and coordinate replacements.
  • Perform essential functions required by the job.

Secondary Job Functions

  • Source vendors of material, equipment or supplies, determine product availability, lead times, pricing and payment terms.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders for material, equipment and supplies.
  • Review purchase order claims for conformance to company policy.
  • Ensure on-time delivery from all suppliers.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Proven experience as an Expeditor or similar role.
  • Familiarity with purchasing components, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Experience in a production environment is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with inventory software.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
