Primary Job Functions
- Act as a liaison between various departments and company suppliers, directing shipments to the correct location and arranging for timed deliveries.
- Oversee and facilitate the smooth flow of work and materials within or among departments according to production or shipping schedules.
- Expedite assigned purchase orders to ensure all requirements specified in the purchase order are accomplished.
- Afford assistance to Accounts Payable in resolving invoice issues with suppliers.
- Manage returns to suppliers due to quality issues and coordinate replacements.
- Perform essential functions required by the job.
Secondary Job Functions
- Source vendors of material, equipment or supplies, determine product availability, lead times, pricing and payment terms.
- Prepare and process purchase orders for material, equipment and supplies.
- Review purchase order claims for conformance to company policy.
- Ensure on-time delivery from all suppliers.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Proven experience as an Expeditor or similar role.
- Familiarity with purchasing components, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Experience in a production environment is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with inventory software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
