About the role

Bon Secours is a faith-based and patient-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of all people through exceptional patient care. The Exercise Physiologist II position is within the cardiopulmonary team and involves developing, implementing, and evaluating the exercise component of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements exercise prescriptions based on patient history and results of tests.
  • Evaluates patient responses to therapy and makes recommendations for changes or modifications.
  • Prepares and presents lectures to educate patients about self-monitoring and exercise guidelines.
  • Maintains records of patient progress and updates Individualized Treatment Plans every 30 days.
  • Serves as a preceptor for new team members and acts as a site supervisor for the Clinic Student University Internship program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology (required)
  • Master's Degree in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology (preferred)
  • BLS Basic Life Support, ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS or PALS required based on specialty assignment)
  • Clinical Specialty certification from an accredited organization such as ACSM or ASEP (preferred)
  • Minimum 2+ years previous experience in adult fitness and/or cardiac rehabilitation programs (preferred)

  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills
  • Effective active listening and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage and interpret physiologic data

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of exercise science principles
  • Experience with adult fitness and cardiac rehabilitation
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

Minimum: $22.02
Maximum: $33.04
