About the role

The Exercise Physiologist provides exercise/fitness assessment and education to patients and families involved in a childhood obesity clinic at Children’s of Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Provides exercise/fitness assessment and education to patients and families involved in a childhood obesity clinic at Children’s of Alabama.
• Works in collaboration with multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Assesses patient progress and modifies treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure continuity of care.
• Participates in interdisciplinary case conferences and team meetings.
• Conducts research and contributes to the development of new programs and initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• One year of clinical experience with prior exposure to pediatrics preferred.
• ACSM - EP (current or within 6 months of hire).
• Current BLS Certification.

Qualifications

• Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications: Basic Life Support.
• Education with Equivalent Qualifications: Bachelors of Science or Arts in Exercise Science.
• Experience with Equivalent Qualifications: 1 Year Staff Level.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of pediatric conditions and treatments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
