About the role
The Exercise Physiologist provides exercise/fitness assessment and education to patients and families involved in a childhood obesity clinic at Children’s of Alabama.
Responsibilities
- Provides exercise/fitness assessment and education to patients and families involved in a childhood obesity clinic at Children’s of Alabama.
- Works in collaboration with multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Assesses patient progress and modifies treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure continuity of care.
- Participates in interdisciplinary case conferences and team meetings.
- Conducts research and contributes to the development of new programs and initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- One year of clinical experience with prior exposure to pediatrics preferred.
- ACSM - EP (current or within 6 months of hire).
- Current BLS Certification.
Qualifications
- Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications: Basic Life Support.
- Education with Equivalent Qualifications: Bachelors of Science or Arts in Exercise Science.
- Experience with Equivalent Qualifications: 1 Year Staff Level.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of pediatric conditions and treatments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
