EXECUTIVE UNDERWRITER

Responsibilities

• Develop and negotiate price, coverage, terms and conditions for all new business and renewals
• Identify target accounts that fit Shepherd’s underwriting appetite
• Leverage technology and data to make quick, informed underwriting decisions tailored to clients' specific needs
• Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to achieve goals
• Negotiate on all levels with both internal and external partners

Requirements

• A minimum of 7+ years of previous experience in the commercial underwriting space (Construction, Casualty, and/or Builder's Risk experience preferred)
• A strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
• Exceptional interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and high emotional intelligence
• Strong sales and marketing skills to position accounts and close deals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge and proficiency with compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategies
• Adaptability and creativity in a fast-paced startup environment

$185K - $228K

Onsite position in our New York City, San Francisco, or Dallas Fort Worth offices.
