About the Role
As the Executive Team Leader HR, you will spend most of your time with the team and on the sales floor, consulting with peers and driving business forward. This role provides experience in:
- Creating and managing HR strategies and goals
- Reading financial reports and interpreting data
- Understanding federal, state, and local employment laws
- Recruiting, selecting, and managing talent for hourly team members and leaders
- Supporting business leaders through coaching and consulting
- Influencing across all levels of the organization
- Problem analysis, decision-making, and financial/quantitative analysis
Responsibilities
- Lead and create a service culture prioritizing guest experience, modeling, training, and coaching expectations.
- Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development and proactive bias management.
- Drive total store sales and understand your role in sales growth and profitability.
- Plan, lead, and follow up on organizational and operational changes.
- Anticipate and identify unique store trends; leverage guest insights to drive business.
- Champion a culture where teams love to work and guests love to shop; recognize and reward outstanding performance.
- Build teams committed to continuous learning through observations and reinforcement of guest-service behaviors.
- Support leadership in ensuring equitable experiences and promoting inclusivity.
- Engage and educate the store team on Target’s community initiatives.
- Build relationships within the community to address local needs and enhance brand awareness.
- Develop leaders to champion a guest-centric culture.
- Foster an open-door culture where team members feel heard and issues are resolved quickly.
- Create schedules that meet both guest and team member needs, increasing predictability in team member hours.
- Guide store leaders in hiring and onboarding talent aligned with business and guest needs.
- Develop a team of HR Experts and Team Leaders to solve problems and remove roadblocks.
- Plan and manage operational programs related to culture, pay, rewards, and benefits.
- Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
- Ensure ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; hold others accountable.
- Address store needs such as emergencies or regulatory visits.
Requirements
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong business acumen and comfort dealing with ambiguity.
- Ability to manage conflict, lead, and hold others accountable.
- Ability to relate well and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision-making, and financial/quantitative analysis.
- Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
Skills
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
- Accurately handle cash register operations.
- Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; regular attendance is necessary.
