About the role
The Protector role at GDBA involves monitoring properties, controlling access, executing security plans, responding to emergencies, providing logistical support, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients.
Responsibilities
- Monitor property using GDBA Command Center tools
- Screens visitors and vendors; controls all access to protected sites
- Covers shifts to coordinate and execute security plans
- Responds to medical emergencies and provides physical protection
- Provides secure transportation as needed
- Surveys and prepares advance locations for client arrivals
- Creates and maintains readiness for any threat
Requirements
- High School/GED level education
- Pass 12-Day Introductory Essential Protector Skills (EPS) Training Academy in San Antonio, TX
- Pass physical readiness test (Pull-ups, Push-ups, Sit-ups, 800m run)
- Must be able to swim
- Must be drug and nicotine free
- Background check required
- Must be able to obtain appropriate state firearm and security licensing
Qualifications
Experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and proficiency in computer systems are essential. Knowledge of firearms and security protocols is also required.
Benefits
Protectors in Colorado can earn up to $77,000 in their first year, including bonuses and incentives based on performance and experience. Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Pay
No less than $64,000 in base earnings during the first year, with potential for higher earnings based on qualifications and performance.
Schedule
Shifts may vary, but Protectors typically work rotating shifts to cover all hours of operation.
