About the role
Your primary responsibility is to manage all phases of small meeting groups under 20 rooms per night, including contracts, rooming lists, billing, VIPs, upgrades, and negotiations. You will also travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition to maximize revenue.
Responsibilities
- Manage contracts, rooming lists, billing, VIPs, and upgrades for small meeting groups.
- Solicit, negotiate, and confirm social group blocks.
- Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to previous, current, and potential clients.
- Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
- Book functions accurately into SalesPro and ensure meeting and room arrangements meet specifications.
- Handle all inquiries, site inspections, and correspondence with utmost courtesy and professionalism.
- Supervise the banquet operation to ensure high standards of service.
- Work closely with the sales and catering departments to maximize group and catering revenues.
- Plan and prepare for events and coordinate unique requirements to meet client needs.
- Identify, customize, and deliver individual guest requirements.
- Assist in supervising the banquet operation to ensure the highest standards of service.
- Work additional hours as needed or when requested.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of conference services sales experience in hospitality, preferably in a luxury establishment.
- College degree in hospitality or business administration.
- Thorough knowledge of sales techniques including strong closing skills and negotiating skills.
- Understanding of both monthly forecasting and the annual budget process.
- SalesPro knowledge is a plus.
- Rooms experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of hotel operations and services.
