Responsibilities

  • Support lawyers in the Firm’s legal departments, as a part of legal support team model
  • Aid attorneys in the litigation department in all phases of litigation including, motion practice, discovery, trial and post-trial
  • Edit and format documents/pleadings, including motions and supporting memoranda, subpoenas, deposition notices, discovery requests and responses, affidavits, answers and agreements
  • Prepare and process electronic filings in federal and state court
  • Participate in all phases of pre-trial activities including preparation of witness binders, organizing trial exhibits and coordinating depositions
  • Maintain and organize case files
  • Monitor docket calendar and coordinate service of filings
  • Manage attorney calendars by planning and scheduling meetings, teleconferences, and travel arrangements
  • Cook up attorney travel schedules, transportation, and accommodations
  • Provide excellent telephone coverage, manage high call volume, and distribute messages in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Build client relationships by courteously communicating with clients and co-workers
  • Assist in day-to-day duties such as faxing, filing, copying, messenger service, etc.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of confidentiality with client and attorney information
  • Prepare expense reports via Chrome River system and submit as appropriate
  • Enter attorney time and review entries in Intapp
  • Liaise with Client Operations team for Partner billing matters
  • Prepare correspondence, client materials, and presentation materials
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of administrative legal experience working within a litigation practice
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the litigation practice, including e-filing in local and state courts; federal filing experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), comfort with technology and ability to learn programs/software
  • Self-starter, extremely organized and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy
  • Maintain composure in high-pressure situations and a fast-paced, multi-authority environment
  • Multi-task and manage priorities effectively
  • Discretion when dealing with confidential matters
  • Exceptional follow-up and follow-through skills
  • Available to work overtime as needed
