About the role
BJ’s Restaurants is looking for talented, passion-driven managers to join our Management Teams as an Executive Kitchen Manager. This is a full-time, exempt position responsible for managing all functions of the restaurant during opening, mid, or closing shifts.
Starting salary range: $80,000 per year plus quarterly bonus potential. Final salary within the range will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, and other job-related qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Manage all functions of the restaurant during assigned shifts, including hiring, supervising, and training team members.
- Ensure a gold standard guest experience and the safety of guests, team members, and property.
- Oversee food and beverage quality, inventory, and ordering to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Prepare and modify team member work schedules and food/beverage orders based on business needs.
- Assist in achieving operational goals set by the Restaurant Support Center.
- Perform managerial duties for more than 50% of work time, exercising independent judgment on matters of consequence.
Duties
- Perform opening, mid-day, or closing duties and conduct daily briefings.
- Manage repair, maintenance, and risk review audit processes to ensure 100% compliance.
- Oversee local restaurant marketing, sales building, and community involvement.
- Update daily communication boards and facilitate training programs.
- Conduct 10-minute drills focusing on cleaning and sanitation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and legal requirements.
- Monitor food and beverage quality through RAFTT (Recipe-Appearance-Flavor-Temperature-Texture) checks twice daily.
- Conduct quarterly food reviews and prepare/receive food and beverage orders.
- Perform weekly inventories and adjust ordering patterns as needed.
- Coach, mentor, and discipline hourly team members; make hiring and termination recommendations.
- Investigate team member inquiries and manage guest relations and recovery.
- Train, coach, and develop team members to provide gold standard service.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of full-service, high-volume, casual dining restaurant management experience.
- High personal integrity, professionalism, and maturity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage relationships effectively.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-performance environment.
- Exceptional guest service orientation and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hour shifts, lift 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, or raising arms.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
