Executive Director, Racial Equity (UC) at County of Los Angeles

About the Role

The Los Angeles County Chief Executive Office is seeking an Executive Director, Racial Equity (Unclassified) to lead the County's enterprise racial equity strategy. This role provides executive leadership for the County’s Anti-Racism, Diversity, and Inclusion (ARDI) initiative and serves as the County’s principal advisor on organizational transformation, equity strategy, implementation, and systems change.

Reporting within the Chief Executive Office, the Executive Director will provide vision, strategic direction, and operational leadership for countywide efforts to identify, address, and eliminate structural and systemic racism. The role focuses on advancing equity and inclusion in areas where the County has control or influence, including service delivery, policy development, budgeting, contracting, and employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the County’s enterprise racial equity strategy and Anti-Racism, Diversity, and Inclusion (ARDI) initiative.
• Serve as the principal advisor on organizational transformation, equity strategy, implementation, and systems change.
• Provide vision, strategic direction, and operational leadership for countywide efforts to eliminate structural and systemic racism.
• Work across County departments and with community-based organizations, residents, philanthropy, academic partners, local jurisdictions, and other stakeholders to advance an anti-racist policy agenda.
• Promote equity and inclusion in service delivery, policy development, budgeting, contracting, and employment.
• Build institutional capacity, strengthen accountability, and improve outcomes for all Los Angeles County residents.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team and ensure ARDI's work remains data-informed, community-centered, and aligned with the priorities of the Board of Supervisors.
