Executive Director of Talent Management
Position Summary
The Executive Director of Talent Management provides strategic leadership for the district’s comprehensive talent management functions, ensuring the attraction, hiring, onboarding, development, support, and retention of a highly qualified workforce. Reporting to the Chief Talent Management Officer, this position oversees the design and execution of talent strategies that support the district’s mission of preparing every student for success.
Key Functions
- Provides cabinet-level strategic leadership for district-wide talent management, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, HRIS, and talent operations
- Serves as a trusted advisor to cabinet and executive leadership on workforce planning, retention, and organizational effectiveness
- Learns and develops the Talent Management leadership team and builds departmental capacity
- Oversees employee relations, including coordination with the General Counsel team, union relations, and investigations
- Leverages workforce analytics to inform staffing, retention, and organizational decisions
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, Education, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in human resources or talent management
- Minimum of five (5) years of high-level work leading multiple HR functions and supervising managers or large teams; experience gained in other organizations is acceptable
- Ability to interpret and use data to drive system-wide implementation and develop an action plan
- Demonstrated experience leading organizational change and implementing strategic initiatives
- Experience managing complex budgets and multiple operational functions
