About the role
The Executive Director of Language & Literacy will lead the development and implementation of language and literacy programs aimed at enhancing student achievement and closing achievement gaps.Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive language and literacy programs aligned with district goals.
- Evaluate current language and literacy practices and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure effective integration of language and literacy strategies across the curriculum.
- Oversee professional development initiatives focused on language and literacy skills.
- Monitor and report on the progress of language and literacy initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to language and literacy education.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in educational leadership, preferably in a K-12 setting.
- Proven track record of improving student outcomes in language and literacy areas.
- Experience in developing and implementing successful language and literacy programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
