About the role
LEARN Behavioral is a national organization dedicated to nurturing children with autism and special needs through contemporary, evidence‑based applied behavior analysis. The organization is seeking an Executive Director of Advocacy to lead efforts that improve access to care for autistic individuals, shape legislative and regulatory policy, and serve as a trusted voice for one of the country's leading ABA providers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the company’s efforts to improve access to care for autistic individuals, especially those covered by Medicaid, in partnership with executive management, local leadership, and third‑party lobbyists.
- Work hand‑in‑hand with regional leaders to advance legislative and regulatory reforms that support the mission and business goals.
- Serve as LEARN’s primary point of contact with national and regional industry associations.
- Develop and implement advocacy initiatives in key markets alongside internal stakeholders, with a particular focus on Medicaid programs.
- Partner with local leadership to weave advocacy priorities into broader business strategy and objectives.
- Track and report on legislation and regulations that could affect access to care, keeping the organization ahead of change rather than reacting to it.
- Build and sustain relationships with key external stakeholders — legislators, regulators, payors, and industry partners.
- Represent LEARN at relevant forums, conferences, and events, serving as a visible and credible voice for the field.
- Keep executive management informed on developments that could impact the organization.
- Partner with Payor relations and RCM team on reimbursement‑related issues.
- Liaise with key industry groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in advocacy, government relations, public policy, or a closely related field.
- Preference for candidates with direct experience in the field of ABA.
- Must be presently eligible to work in the United States.
Skills
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex policy issues into actionable advocacy strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders — from clinicians to legislators to payors.
- Proven track record of working independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to represent LEARN in key markets and forums.
