About the role

We are seeking a seasoned results-driven Executive Director, Human Resources to lead and manage the Human Resources department. This role supports the strategic vision of the department and college, focusing on compliance, employee and labor relations, benefits, recruitment, and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CHRO in the support and management of the Human Resource Department activities and strategic initiatives.
  • Recommend and propose new HR approaches, policies, and procedures to improve service and efficiency.
  • Manage Reimbursable Unemployment Compensation processes, including responding to fact finding requests, filing benefit appeals, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Manage compliance with EEO and Title VII regulations, including investigation of EEO/Title VII complaints, reporting, and policy management.
  • Ensure compliance with all employee health-related policies, including FMLA, STD, LTD, and ADA.
  • Aid in the development, implementation, and updating of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on HR best practices and trends in the higher education sector, making recommendations to update and enhance current policies and practices.
  • Participate in the decision-making process regarding benefit plan designs, vendor selection, and best practices.
  • Define and analyze HR metrics to inform data-driven decision-making and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources to integrate HRIS with other systems and utilize HRIS for accessible, accurate, and timely reporting and analytics.
  • Engage in labor relations activities, including preparation for grievances, contract negotiations, and promoting positive labor relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible HR Generalist leadership experience, with at least 7 years in a human resources leadership role.
  • Previous experience in a Title IX position, with a thorough understanding of Title IX regulations, applicable laws, and relevant guidance.
  • Expertise in using HRIS technology with prior experience in system implementation.
  • Adequate understanding of HR laws and regulations, with first-hand experience dealing with governmental institutions like EEOC, DOL, DOE.
