About the role
The QTI Group is partnering with Lakeshore College in Cleveland, Wisconsin to hire its next Executive Director of Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Strategic advisor to the Vice President of Administration on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and HR strategy.
- Coach and advise leaders on employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution; serve as a mediator as needed.
- Lead performance improvement processes and support succession planning and organizational change initiatives.
- Oversee onboarding and ensure a positive, seamless experience for new employees.
- Build organizational capacity by partnering across departments to align talent strategies with college goals and mission.
- Foster a positive, engaged workplace through employee relations programs, recognition initiatives, and engagement strategies.
- Represent the College in HR-related matters internally and externally, including participation in WTCS and regional groups.
- Stay current on HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution required.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible human resources experience required, including demonstrated leadership experience, preferably within a higher education or public-sector environment.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
- Broad knowledge of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, compensation and benefits, organizational development, and performance management; higher education experience preferred.
- Experience leading change initiatives, including technology implementation and process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, with the ability to ensure compliance in a complex environment.
- Proven ability to partner strategically with leadership on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and culture development.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse campus stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing HR teams.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex and confidential matters with sound judgment.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and adapt to HR systems and emerging technologies.
- Understanding of higher education culture, including shared governance and student-centered decision-making, preferred.
