Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee movies, Evans Children’s Academy productions, concerts, rentals, and special events
- Oversee daily operations of the Poncan Theatre, including front-of-house and back-of-house staff, contractors, and volunteers
- Ensure the box office, concessions, and guest experience operate smoothly
- Ensure events are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations
- Maintain clear systems for scheduling, communication, and event execution
- Lead event booking, programming strategy, and audience development efforts to maximize attendance and revenue
- Cultivate relationships with promoters, artists, agents, community partners, and renters
- Work alongside the Treasurer to develop and manage the annual operating budget
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and overall financial performance
- Track and grow revenue streams including ticket sales, concessions, rentals, sponsorships, donations, grants, and fundraising initiatives
- Provide regular updates to the Board on financial performance
- Aid with fundraising efforts, including sponsorships, donor outreach, annual campaigns, and grant opportunities
- Oversee the condition and day-to-day needs of the facility
- Protect and preserve the historic integrity of the Poncan Theatre
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, restoration projects, vendor relationships, and capital improvements
- Assist in planning and executing long-term facility improvements
- Provide leadership and coordination for staff and volunteers
- Set clear expectations and maintain consistent communication
- Serve as a visible representative of the Poncan Theatre in the community
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for the Poncan Theatre
- Promote the Poncan Theatre as a leading cultural and community destination in Ponca City
- Oversee marketing direction and audience growth efforts
- Ensure consistency in public messaging and branding
- Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors
- Work in alignment with Board direction and organizational priorities
Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience in theater management and operations
- Strong financial management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
- Experience with event planning and execution
- Knowledge of theatrical arts and history
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
