About the role

The Executive Consultant will lead large and complex client engagements, serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, and oversee the successful delivery of DEKRA's consulting solutions. The role combines executive coaching, client relationship management, project leadership, team development, and business growth.

Responsibilities

Client Leadership

  • Coach client executives and develop trusted advisor relationships.
  • Deliver DEKRA's Executive Leading with Safety® program and other consulting solutions.
  • Track progress toward client objectives and adjust strategies when necessary.
  • Guide and facilitate governance processes.
  • Communicate regularly with client leadership teams.
  • Provide candid and constructive guidance, including when difficult conversations are necessary.
  • Adapt DEKRA's centerline model to the client's specific objectives and organizational needs.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage project teams to ensure successful engagement delivery.
  • Ensure consulting solutions are integrated and aligned with client objectives.
  • Maintain effective communication across delivery and project teams.
  • Ensure teams execute the client's adaptation of the centerline model across the organization.
  • Provide performance feedback, recognition, and development guidance to consultants.
  • Collaborate with managers on team member growth, development, and work-life balance.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching and mentoring.

Business & Project Management

  • Maintain complete and accurate project plans throughout the engagement.
  • Manage projects toward established realization-rate targets.
  • Ensure effective utilization of consulting resources.
  • Maintain accurate monthly forecasts.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and extend long-term engagements.
  • Surface additional business opportunities to DEKRA.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of leadership experience, including executive-level experience with safety responsibility.
  • Advanced degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Experience presenting and operating in front of C-suite executives.
  • Demonstrated cognitive flexibility and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
  • Deep knowledge of DEKRA solutions.
  • Ability to understand the impact of non-safety processes on safety and organizational culture.
  • Ability to develop strategic plans supporting safety excellence and engagement objectives.
  • Strong client management and business management capabilities.
  • Ability to create project team cultures aligned with organizational values.
  • Strong understanding of governance structures and how they operate in different situations.
  • Ability to develop and recommend meaningful client metrics.
  • Experience applying effective change management practices.
  • Knowledge of Safety Management System (SMS) best practices.
  • Ability to lead matrixed teams.
  • Strong coaching and talent development capabilities.

Physical Considerations

  • Ability to work across a variety of client locations, environments, and conditions.
  • Ability to climb stairs, walk long distances, and navigate rough or uneven terrain.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to accommodate different work shifts based on client activities.
  • Ability to withstand extensive travel.
  • Ability to manage difficult travel and long periods of driving.
  • Full range of motion required to conduct work.
  • Ability to lift approximately 25–50 lbs. of luggage.
  • Ability to perform extended periods of computer-based work.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

Pay

$50–$130 per hour, depending on professional services delivered.

Schedule

Part-Time.

Travel

  • Domestic and/or international travel required.
  • Estimated travel: Up to 50%.
