Executive Chef

Four Points by Sheraton Richmond is a 195-room hotel proudly managed by SMI Hotel Group, boasting 11,000 square feet of meeting space and the most stunning outdoor event space in the greater Richmond area. We are looking for an Executive Chef with strong management skills, able to attract, retain, and motivate staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor kitchen staff in menu preparation and execution, ensuring exceptional food quality and presentation.
• Directly involved in cooking and overseeing food preparation during service periods, including special events, while upholding health and safety standards.
• Manage hiring, training, and performance reviews for culinary staff, fostering a high-performing team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and budgetary controls, achieving financial targets and delivering outstanding service.
• Control the Culinary budgeting process (e.g., food cost, payroll, overheads) and achieve food cost budget throughout the year; report all variances from actual budget with reasons and recommendations for remedial action.
• Adapt to fast-paced environments with short notice menu changes and creatively address special requests.
• Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with guests during food tastings and events.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of Executive Chef experience.
• Expertise in food product, presentation, quality, preparation, and menu concept and design.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a large and busy kitchen servicing the restaurant and banquets.
• Ability to manage all back-of-house standards, food and labor costs, with strong culinary skills and excellent communication.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
