Executive Assistant, VP, Customer Experience (Remote)
This role can be performed from any location within the United States but has a strong preference for working CST or EST hours.
About the Team
The GES Central Customer Experience team provides support to 130 customers across the Midwestern United States, leveraging the combined expertise of our Solution Design Architects, Customer Experience Managers, and Service Delivery Managers. Our mission is to drive exceptional customer satisfaction and product adoption by delivering best-in-class professional services that ensure our clients realize the full value of their Cisco investments.
You will support one VP with the potential to add additional Director support.
Responsibilities
- Calendar Management: Handles VP's calendar by prioritizing schedules and meetings. Decides who gets on the principal’s calendar, which meetings are attended, and who can attend in their place.
- Event Speaking Engagement Coordination: Manages a running list of VP’s engagements and works closely with the communications team to ensure content needs are understood and set in motion so the VP is prepared for each engagement.
- Meeting Planning and Organization: Assists VP in planning and organizing meetings by assembling the agenda, securing the location, arranging meeting technology based on participant needs, and handling all other meeting logistics. Prepares meeting briefing documents by taking and disseminating notes and formulating post-meeting action item lists.
- Travel Briefing Preparation: Builds travel packs for international trips as well as large domestic events such as Cisco Live, including all event information and coordinated logistics of travel, customer, and team requests.
- Correspondence/Approvals: Acts as proxy for communications and approvals as authorized. Answers general questions, refers routine matters to appropriate parties, and follows up to ensure accurate completion. Takes initiative to resolve issues within specified policies and guidelines and mentors administrative community members on problem-solving. Determines when executive action is required and provides recommendations where appropriate.
- Travel and Expense Management: Makes in-depth global travel arrangements for the VP, carefully considering and deciding the optimum travel arrangements and itinerary for calendared meetings while handling Cisco expenses. Works with airlines to accommodate Global Services benefits for upgrades whenever available.
- Special Projects: Provides analytical support to assist executives on special projects, including researching issues, analyzing problems, compiling data, and preparing reports.
- Large Corporate Events: Prepares and briefs itineraries and accompanies the VP for large corporate events such as GSX, where executive assistants are used for executive support.
- Confidentiality: Handles sensitive and confidential matters and materials with professionalism.
Requirements
- 4+ years’ experience in an administrative environment.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting a principal at the director level or above.
- Expert-level knowledge of Windows desktop computer applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience in calendar management, planning meetings, and coordinating travel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to connect with all levels of executive/senior staff and clients.
- Ability to take initiative, handle a full desk with ease, and thrive in a lively environment.
- High-energy with a passion for thinking bigger and broader than the role itself.
- Strong interpersonal skills, independent judgment, utmost integrity, and ability to balance both strategic and tactical actions.
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications
- Past work experience in the high-tech industry is desired; prior Cisco experience preferred.
- Associate’s degree.

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $84,800.00 to $111,500.00 for new hires in U.S. locations, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training.
Full salary ranges for specific locations:
- New York City Metro Area: $99,300.00 - $172,800.00
- Non-Metro New York State & Washington State: $92,000.00 - $141,800.00
For quota-based sales roles, the ranges provided include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.

- 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, with up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next.
- Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members.
- Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer.
- Eligibility to earn annual bonuses (for non-sales roles) subject to Cisco’s policies.
- For sales roles, employees earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, split between quota and non-quota components.
- Employees may be eligible to receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, which vest following continued employment with Cisco for defined periods of time.
