Executive Assistant/Scheduler - Office of Senator Hurtado (Sacramento, CA)

About the role

Responsible for the preparation and baking of a variety of baked productions in a school cafeteria; provides direction/instruction to assigned cafeteria helper(s) and/or other adult/student helper(s); and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualification Requirements
• Specialized Experience Requirement: Six (6) months of work experience as an apprentice or helper in a kitchen where the applicant has acquired some skill in baking by assisting with such tasks as weighing, measuring and combining ingredients, mixing dough for simple baked products, shaping dough for rolls, etc.
• Quantity Baking Experience Requirement: One (1) year of work experience as a baker where baking was done in large quantities. Such experience must demonstrate basic proficiency in quantity baking as evidenced by the possession of knowledge of types of ingredients used in baking, their properties, functions and substitutions if any; standard procedures for measuring and combining ingredients used in increasing/decreasing recipe proportions and calculating baking times for non-standard batch sizes (e.g. 8 dozen cupcakes rather than 2 sheet cakes); and actual hands-on experience in producing a variety of baked goods on a large scale basis.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand oral and written English, follow oral and written instructions and perform simple arithmetic
• Ability to demonstrate the whole process of quantity baking

Skills

• Knowledge of types of ingredients used in baking, their properties and functions
• Standard procedures for measuring and combining ingredients used in increasing/decreasing recipe proportions and calculating baking times for non-standard batch sizes
• Actual hands-on experience in producing a variety of baked goods on a large scale basis

Pay

• Salary Range And Bargaining Unit (BU): School Baker, BC-06, BU-01
• Compensation adjustment shall be made in accordance with the applicable established collective bargaining agreement, policy and procedure, or executive order.
