About the role

The successful candidate will oversee a team of professional Human Services caseworkers specializing in areas such as child welfare, including sexual abuse, crisis intervention, physical abuse, child neglect, foster care, youth-in-conflict, day care, and placement alternatives. Responsibilities include supervision, caseload management, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees staff scheduling and monitors caseloads.
  • Conducts individual and group conferences to set and monitor deadlines.
  • Establishes unit goals and timetables, and participates in program planning.
  • Assigns specific tasks to caseworkers and provides guidance and consultation.
  • Reviews caseworkers' performance and completes performance reviews.
  • Selects new employees for the unit.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year university with a degree in social work or human behavioral sciences.
  • Three years of experience at or above the senior level Human Services caseworker in an area appropriate to the assignment.
  • One year of supervisory/management experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business procedures, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical skills including working with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Reasoning ability including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
