EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
This position is in the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) under 10 USC 1599f and does not convey eligibility for conversion to the Competitive Service. It supports the mission of the US Cyber Command and is classified as Administrative Support at the Developmental Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure, located in the DISA Global Field Command (DG).
Responsibilities
- Serves as an Executive Assistant and Advisor to the DISA Global Commander, Technical Director, and Senior Enlisted Leader.
- Coordinates distribution of information or materials with external entities.
- Manages logistics for meetings, seminars, and conferences.
- Serves as a timekeeper and maintains time and attendance for the Command.
- Prepares travel arrangements for all Command Group members in the Defense Travel System (DTS), including detailed itineraries, flight arrangements, lodging, rental cars, and scheduling meetings at the destination.
- At the GG-12 level, acts as the primary Task Officer/Action Officer, facilitating all tasks and suspense items for the command.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- This national security position requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This position is designated as "Mission Essential." The incumbent may be required to report to work or relocate within the United States during local or national emergencies.
- A three-year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must describe qualifying experience as defined below. Experience refers to paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and military service, that is equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
- GG-09: One year of experience equivalent to the GS/GG-07 level, including assisting in drafting and reviewing standard executive correspondence, memos, and briefings; maintaining multiple calendars for senior-level staff; and scheduling and coordinating meetings.
- GG-11: One year of experience equivalent to the GS/GG-09 level, including independently drafting and reviewing executive correspondence, memos, and briefings; maintaining multiple calendars for senior-level staff; scheduling and coordinating meetings; and tracking action items or taskers using a data system.
- GG-12: One year of experience equivalent to the GS/GG-11 level, including directing, editing, reviewing, and finalizing executive correspondence for executive signature; maintaining multiple senior-level staff calendars; scheduling and coordinating meetings; directing the workflow of action items or taskers using a data system; and executing travel arrangements and final authorizations utilizing the Defense Travel System (DTS).

Education
- GG-09: Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education, a Master's degree, or equivalent may substitute for qualifying experience. Transcripts must be submitted at the time of application.
- GG-11: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may substitute for qualifying experience. Transcripts must be submitted at the time of application.
- GG-12: Education is not substitutable for qualifying experience at this grade level.
Education must be obtained from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For foreign education, credentials must be evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application.
Pay
- GG-09: $63,288 to $82,279 per year (Scott AFB, IL).
- GG-11: $76,573 to $99,550 per year (Scott AFB, IL).
- GG-12: $91,779 to $119,315 per year (Scott AFB, IL).
