Excavation Technician/Operator

About the Role

Comfort Heroes is looking for a full-time Excavation Technician/Operator near Sioux Falls, SD. This role primarily involves excavation during Spring/Summer months, with cross-training opportunities in Septic pumping, Drain cleaning, Pipe Relining, and Pipe Bursting technologies during seasonal slow times.

Responsibilities

• Excavate in town and state roadways
• Safely operate around buried utilities such as water, gas, sewer, electrical, and communications
• Operate an excavator in close proximity to equipment and the public safely
• Perform daily fluid level checks on oil, water, and fuel
• Conduct visual inspection for obvious leaks and damage to machine before operation
• Perform safety equipment checks
• Responsible for daily maintenance of equipment to remain in proper and safe working order
• Notify supervisor if equipment needs to be repaired
• Other duties as assigned during seasonal slow times

Qualifications

• Experience excavating in town and state roadways
• Ability to safely operate around buried utilities
• Skilled in operating an excavator in close proximity to equipment and the public
• CDL License is a PLUS
