Cleaning Duties

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, treatment areas, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces
• Dust, clean, disinfect, and polish furniture and equipment
• Remove and dispose of waste, including regulated medical waste
• Stock and maintain supplies in designated areas
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and properly
• Respond to cleaning and service requests from staff and departments
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs

Additional Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to cleaning and service requests from staff and departments
• May assist with keeping entryways free of snow, ice and debris
• Maintain cleanliness of walls, windows, doors, and ceilings
• Participate in educational programs, in-service training, and required departmental or hospital meetings
• Follow hospital safety standards and actively participate in safety training
• Communicate and uphold hospital compliance program standards, procedures, and goals
• Contribute to team-based decision making; demonstrate flexibility, cooperation, and respect for others’ ideas

Qualifications

• Basic Clarke County Hospital (CCH) Performance Criteria
• Demonstrates Clarke County Hospital Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to hospital policies and procedures and safety guidelines
• Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance
• Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position
• P Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DIA, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare
• Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year
• Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse
• Bridges any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff
• Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance
