About the role
Banner University Medical Center – Tucson is a nationally recognized academic medical center providing exceptional patient care, teaching future health-care professionals, and conducting groundbreaking research. As an EVS Lead (Housekeeping) you will join a cohesive team that helps ensure a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff while supporting the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and training for environmental services associates; assist with on-the-job training and input to performance evaluations.
- Ensure staffing plans are carried out and all areas of the hospital are appropriately staffed; move staff to various areas as needed.
- Plan and coordinate hospital-wide cleaning projects; ensure consistent service-delivery standards across Environmental Services and Linen operations.
- Perform cleaning functions in patient rooms, specialty areas, and common areas; set up rooms for meetings and special functions.
- Assist supervisor with quality-assurance inspections and correction of deficiencies.
- Distribute linens and supplies; take inventories in assigned areas.
- Supervise staff in the absence of the Environmental Services leader; make work assignments and respond to immediate needs.
- Work independently with general supervision; department responsibility only.
Requirements
- Two or more years of related healthcare environmental-services experience.
- Leadership ability and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Role-model customer service, safe work practices, and infection control including hand hygiene.
- For roles at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a behavioral-health clinical setting serving children: Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at time of hire and maintained for duration of employment; signed Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week; 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm; weekend rotations and holidays required.
Weekend shift differential: $1/hour flat rate. Night shift differential: 18% when applicable.
Training schedule
- 1st week: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- 2nd week: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (including attending NEO on Monday morning)
BUMCT and BUMCS train together; location determined by EVS Educator.
