EVS Associate Floor Technician
Gilbert, Arizona – Night shift in the Environmental Services department at Banner Gateway Medical Center.

As a Housekeeping EVS Associate, you’ll ensure our facilities maintain a top-notch appearance by cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the hospital. This role is vital to our hospital staff and makes a difference in the lives of our patients.
The environment is fast-paced and physical, involving walking, pushing a cleaning cart, and working with cleaning chemicals to handle blood and bodily fluids. You may be assigned to clean the morgue or specialty areas such as a COVID-19 Unit. Strong communication with your team and medical staff is essential.
If offered the position, a background check and drug screen will be conducted. All Banner Health employees are required to receive an annual Flu Vaccine. Questions regarding exemptions can be directed to the recruiter.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Plan and complete daily cleaning tasks.
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen.
- Empty trash containers and remove all trash, including medical waste containers and sharps.
- Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and report necessary repairs.
- Protect equipment from damage through proper use and logging.
- Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, or removing heavily soiled items.
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors while meeting or exceeding customer service satisfaction goals.
- Clean floors throughout the shift, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and by phone.
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals, including filling out chemical identification stickers.
- For positions at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting serving children: possession of an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintained throughout employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques.
- Additional related education and/or experience.

Pay
Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend and 18% night shift differential when applicable.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 7:00 PM to 3:30 AM.
- Weekends when necessary.
