About the role
The Environmental Services (EVS) Technician under the direction of the Supervisor Environmental Services (EVS) is responsible for maintaining best in class standards of cleanliness and sanitation. This role involves the detailed and technical execution of environmental services and requires a thorough understanding of the equipment used.
Responsibilities
- Extensive cleaning and sanitization of all high areas front-of-house and back-of-house, including high walls, ceilings, windows, door panels, sills, and woodwork.
- Cleaning and sanitization of all assigned areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper repair.
- Operating all EVS Technician Equipment, including floor care, carpet extraction, and high cleaning of all areas.
- Maintaining all air vents to ensure proper airflow and keeping informational signs, light fixtures, picture frames, TV monitors, and high décor free of dust.
- Performing floor care on terrazzo, VCT, marble, tile, etc., safely removing and applying sealer or floor finish.
- Vacuuming, gum removal, and carpet extraction of all common areas.
- Notifying management of supplies needed or equipment requiring maintenance.
- Following the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects and materials.
- Ensuring all chemicals in assigned areas are properly labeled according to the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and utilizing cleaning materials/equipment per the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Assisting with promoting brand loyalty by engaging in exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Displaying a positive and professional demeanor during interactions with fellow team members and guests.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Some EVS experience, such as operating cleaning equipment and sanitization.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment required to complete all duties and jobs.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines when using required chemicals, equipment, tools, and techniques while performing job duties.
- Ability to operate both walk behind and ride-on cleaning equipment such as vacuums, steamers, burnishers, extractors, scrubbers, aerial scissor lift, etc.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
- Ability to maintain a consistent regular attendance record.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Primary work environment is in a Facility setting.
- May involve some sitting, walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Requires strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Requires endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
