About the role
The position is open for candidates with a Ph.D. in Mechanical, Thermal Power, or a closely related field of Engineering. Preference is given to candidates whose research focuses on Fluid Mechanics & Thermal Sciences and Dynamics, Vibrations, & Acoustics, with alignment to Energy, Transportation and Sustainability; Health Innovation and Human Resilience; Cyberinfrastructure, Machine Learning, AI, and Data Science.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to interdisciplinary research projects aligned with the department's and college's mission.
- Collaborate with faculty and students from various disciplines to address societal grand challenges.
- Engage in research that utilizes advanced methodologies in Fluid Mechanics & Thermal Sciences and Dynamics, Vibrations, & Acoustics.
- Develop innovative solutions leveraging Cyberinfrastructure, Machine Learning, AI, and Data Science.
Requirements
- A strong background in Mechanical, Thermal Power, or a closely related field of Engineering.
- Experience in Fluid Mechanics & Thermal Sciences and Dynamics, Vibrations, & Acoustics.
- Research interests that align with the focus areas of Energy, Transportation and Sustainability; Health Innovation and Human Resilience; Cyberinfrastructure, Machine Learning, AI, and Data Science.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Mechanical, Thermal Power, or a closely related field of Engineering.
Skills
- Strong research skills in Fluid Mechanics & Thermal Sciences and Dynamics, Vibrations, & Acoustics.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Knowledge of Cyberinfrastructure, Machine Learning, AI, and Data Science.
